Wow. Quite the win over Calgary on the weekend. Too bad they blacked it out here in The Peg. I just managed to catch some highlights. Seems they have a bit of their momentum back since the wheels fell off at mid season.
The defence is kicking ass and taking names. Kevin Glen is still a bit shaky, but it’s been at least two games since he’s thrown a pick. Charles “Blink” Roberts took the season rushing title for the second year in a row with 1560 yards. This puts him less then 100 yard from his personal record of 1624 with one game left in the season. Uncle Milty added another TD to his chase for the record. He is still one TD short of the all time record of 137. I personally think he’s waiting to add a few more to that number before he retires. 140 is a nice round number. Of course there is always good old Troy “Wide Left” Westwood. to worry about. I’d really like to know how many games we lost by the less the field goals he’s missed.
Things are looking up in Bomber town.
This has to be one of the funniest things I’ve seen in a while….
Robot Chicken Star Wars
I was on one of my many regular trips to Rona last night and side tracked into Toys R Us to see what was up in the land of Star Wars figures and Lego. Holy Crap! All Star Wars Lego was 20% off till Friday October 20th or while supplies last. I could have spent a couple of hundred dollars in there, but I showed some restraint and only picked up two things that I have been wanting for a while. Strangely enough some items that I haven’t seen on store shelves for quite a bit seem to have popped up again. For instance the Jedi Star Fighter (7256)
I also picked up the ARC-170 Star Fighter (7259) but have not assembled it yet. I’ll post some pics as soon as I do. I guess either they are clearing out old stock for xmas or some one found a bunch of boxes they forgot about. Do yourself a favor and stop by Toys R Us if you are a collector.
stay tuned!
Update: My mistake, they still have a chance of securing the semi-final game at home, not the final. Still that’s pretty good for a team that went from 5-2 to 8-8.
Winnipeg managed to eek out another win today against the The Ti-Cats. For a team that came out of the gates full tilt and went 5-2 to mid season they sure are sucking as of late. They should have been able to walk all over the tabbies and run the score up.
One comment that caught my attention as the game ended was that this brings the Bombers back to 50% and they still have a chance of securing a home game for the eastern final. My God… Only in the CFL
I’m a big Star Wars fan. I picked up the odd figure or mini Lego set here and there. It wasn’t untill after Epidode III was released that I started buying figures a little more often. The problem with this is that In most cases the ones you want are gone fromt he stores.
This is the beauty of E-Bay. You can find pretty much anything. You can find some one selling more then one of a particular figure which I think is pretty cool as far as buying clone troopers go.
This has taught me one lesson. If you see a figure you want in the store, buy it. It won’t be there next time you look. You can always get rid of it on E-bay later.
Here’s a couple pics of my latest aquisitions. A lot of five of the 501st Legion of Clone troopers.
I’ll post some more of the ones I’ve picked up in the past as I find some time.
Stay tuned.
I hopped into a taxi today while going to between sites at work. It happened to be a Toyota Prius. Being the geek that I am I spent most of the trip watching the little screen to see how often it actually ran off the battery and didn’t use the gasoline engine. I was quite surprised to see that it spent about 80% of it’s time getting energy from the gasoline engine. The only time the engine seemed to be disenageged was when it was stopped or slowing down and the energy flowed back to the battery. Some times it seemed to take energy from both the engine and battery, but most of the it seemed to be running off the gasoline engine.
It was stop and go city driving and I have no idea how it was suposed to work, but it didn’t seem all that efficient to me. In my mind this begs the question, exactly how green are these cars after all?
