Week 5 CFL Picks NOT

Filed under: cfl, football, sports — anothergene @ 12:29 pm

As you know by know I didn’t have any week picks. Nor did I comment on my week 4 picks. I am holidays with limited access to the internet and a Western Canada Lotteries outlet.

I will say that I’m rather pissed at the Bombers for almost handing back the game to Montreal. They were up by 7 or so points then let them march down the field and score.

I will be back for Week 6. See you soon and stay cool.

Week 4 CFL Picks

Filed under: cfl, football, pro-line, sports — anothergene @ 8:31 am

Winnipeg @ Montreal - This one is making me scratch my head. I’m really on the fence with this one. Considering how close Montreal was against Hamilton I think they are having a lot of problems this year. Cavillo seems to spend more time on his back then looking for receivers. Winnipeg really should have scored more against Edmonton. These two teams have always butted heads and played some really close games. I think Winnipeg has the traction to stick it to Montreal except for the distraction of Milt trying to break the record. Once that is out of the way Winnipeg is going to settle down and play some really solid football. My gut is telling me Winnipeg.

Hamilton @ BC - Not too much to say about this. Even with BC’s QB problems I’m going to have to go with BC. Their defense is just too good for the Tabbies

Saskatchewan @ Edmonton - Another cloudy one. If Edmonton had lost in Winnipeg last week I’d be picking Western Riders hands down. Still my gut is telling me Edmonchuck on this one.

Toronto @ Calgary - They may be down their starting QB, but that isn’t a problem with the depth they have in that position. Another easy win for Toronto. Should be a reply of last week except on in Calgary.

Update: Ok, I’m against the odds on Winnipeg @ Montreal and Toronto @ Calgary. OK I can see the Winnipeg @ Montreal choice, it might go either way, I can’t believe they’re calling Calgary. If these picks are correct, $5 will get you $80 on Pro-line.

The results of my Week 3 CFL picks

Filed under: cfl, football, sports — anothergene @ 12:23 pm

Calgary at Toronto - Toronto took the boots to Calgary.  As pridicted.

Edmonton at Winnipeg - So close. Leave it to the Bombers to lose to a team that didn’t make the playoffs last year. I should have listened to that little voice. Even if they had got that last TD with 2 seconds left they still wouldn’t have covered the spread.

BC at Saskatchewan - BC brought a whole truck load of Whoop-Ass with them.  Against the odds as predicted.

Montreal at Hamilton - Surprisingly close.  Two teams that can’t seem to get any traction this year.  Is Montreal going down or Hamilton going up?

Week four looks a little cloudy so stay tuned true believers.

My Pro-Line Picks for Week 3 in the CFL

Filed under: cfl, football, gambling, pro-line, sports — anothergene @ 12:49 pm

Here are my picks for pro-line for week 3 in the CFL. No science here, just some gut feels.

Calgary at Toronto - Toronto. Even though it was the Ti-Cats last week, Toronto still looked pretty strong.

Edmonton at Winnipeg - Winnipeg. It goes against my better judgment to bet with the Bombers as of the last couple years, but I have a bit of a home town soft sport for them and their Defense looked pretty good last week. I don’t think Stegal’s number is up for the record for a couple of games yet either. I think he’ll do it in Hamilton on the 27th. Once the presure is off watch for him to rack of a bunch more.

BC at Saskatchewan - BC. Going against the odds on this one. Both teams looked pretty good so far, but BC is just more solid over all. I think either of them are ripe to be in Toronto come November.

Hamilton at Montreal - Montreal. Both teams are not firing on all cylinders. Maas’ playing injured and Chang still seems pretty green. Either way if the Aoulette even bring their half ass game they’ll walk out with a win.

I in no way endorse gabling or stand behind any of these picks, but if you choose to $5 will get you $72 on Pro-Line.
