I agree with most of what he said except that he has missed one thing. Apple is first and foremost a hardware company and they always will be. Anything they do is purely to sell computers, ipods and the like.

This is akin to Apple starting a record label isn’t it? In theory a good idea, but a bit outside the scope of they do.
