Blue Bombers Fire Coach

Although I didn’t see this coming this quickly, I knew the firing Doug Berry was more then likely inevitable.

I was listening to it on the news on the way back to work and Lyle Bauer was quoted as saying they expect to have a new coach in place with in two weeks. That got me wondering if it had anything to do with Don Matthews resigning recently from Toronto. I doubt it, but if it does happen you heard it here first!

So how bout them Bombers eh?

Wow. Quite the win over Calgary on the weekend. Too bad they blacked it out here in The Peg. I just managed to catch some highlights. Seems they have a bit of their momentum back since the wheels fell off at mid season.

The defence is kicking ass and taking names. Kevin Glen is still a bit shaky, but it’s been at least two games since he’s thrown a pick. Charles “Blink” Roberts took the season rushing title for the second year in a row with 1560 yards. This puts him less then 100 yard from his personal record of 1624 with one game left in the season. Uncle Milty added another TD to his chase for the record. He is still one TD short of the all time record of 137. I personally think he’s waiting to add a few more to that number before he retires. 140 is a nice round number. Of course there is always good old Troy “Wide Left” Westwood. to worry about. I’d really like to know how many games we lost by the less the field goals he’s missed.

Things are looking up in Bomber town.
